Last week, we finally started knocking out a bunch of features that our users have been asking for.
Read on to learn more :)
A new interaction in town: Subjective Questions 🎉
For all of the past 9 months, Plio supported only one type of interaction: Multiple-Choice Questions. This restricted the number of use-cases that Plio could be used for. Finally, after becoming one of the most popular feature requests from our users, Plio now supports subjective questions. Creators can choose between the two question types: Multiple-Choice and Subjective. They can set the question to be either a short-answer one or a long-answer one as well by setting the maximum number of characters if they need to. This automatically unlocks a vast set of use-cases for Plio from a feedback gathering tool to data collection and a lot more. We invite you to take Plio to its maximum potential!
Live Preview 🎨
A major problem that creators faced while creating a plio was the inability to check how their questions would look on our player once the plio is published. They would have to publish their plio, check how it looks, duplicate the plio to make any changes, and repeat the dreadful cycle. We have now added a live preview for questions on the editor. Creators can now see how their questions would look without having to go through the cycle of hell.
Peek-a-boo 👀
Both creators and viewers can now minimize the question to see the video at that exact timestamp and toggle to see the question again. We had received feedback from our users that it was tough for them to see the video at the exact time at which the question appears. This is especially useful when you need to keep referring to the video to answer a question.
Hello from the other side 📞
Now creators and viewers can talk to the Plio Team directly through the app with the new Chatwoot integration. We are looking forward to a deeper interaction with our users, understanding their pain points, and solving their problems :)
Choose your language 📚
So far, we had set the default language to English and had provided a small dropdown to change the language. However, that dropdown was not very easily noticeable by new users, especially students who are not very digitally literate. Since those students can only understand their local language, this became a huge challenge. Now, first-time users will be asked to set their default language of preference upfront.
Highlights of Bug fixes & Enhancements 🐞
The screen doesn't shift weirdly after submitting the answer to a question 🙈
We removed unnecessary spacing in the interaction box to make more space for the answer region 💃
The question text is now aligned with the answer region in the interaction box 👮
We made a bunch of tweaks to our login page 🙆
Our email-based login is much more clear now
Added links to our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy to let users know that they are opting into our agreement
Made the fact that OTP is supported only for Indian numbers much clearer by prepending +91 instead of showing a warning message
The placeholder in the editor would earlier take some time to load. Not anymore! 😈
