Features
We’re now supporting iOS!
New info icons added to the Dashboard metrics ℹ
Info icons have been added next to the metrics on the Dashboard to explain what each metric means.
The home page loads 50% faster now ⚡️
The queries that were being made individually to our Plio Analytics service have been bunched together into a single query reducing the loading time from 4-5 seconds to less than 2 seconds.
Loading spinners added to the Google login and Phone login buttons ⌛
A loading indicator has been added to the login buttons for a better user experience and acknowledging the user’s action.
Authentication between Plio Analytics and Plio Backend will now be provided by AWS Cognito 🔐
We use CubeJS as our analytical platform connecting our database to the frontend. When it is run in production mode, it needs an authentication token. For the launch, we went ahead with Auth0 as the Identity Provider since it was easier to implement. We are now switching from Auth0 to AWS Cognito as it will help us bring down the cost by almost 4 times and help us stay in the AWS ecosystem.
Plio’s landing page and the web app now have basic Google Analytics integration 📈
The link to join the waitlist has been added to the homepage for unapproved users 📝
The downloaded data dump from Dashboard will contain a README 📜
A creator can download a CSV dump of all the data that we collect from every viewer’s interaction with the plio - including all the sessions by every user, the watch time of each viewer, the responses of each viewer to the questions, events like playing the video, pausing the video, etc. We have now included a README file that will describe the contents of the downloaded CSVs to help the users understand the gold mine that they are sitting on.
Automatic mail trigger when a user is approved 📩
Whenever a user’s status is changed from waitlist
to approved
using Plio’s REST API, an automatic mail will be triggered and sent to the user notifying them of their approval status.
Bug fixes & improvements
The CubeJS authentication token will now be refreshed upon expiry.
The phone login option has been temporarily hidden as users approved through email were getting confused and were entering their phone numbers first.
Multitenancy support in cubeJS schemas using
extendContext
and a contribution made to the CubeJS repository.
